As one of the most vibrant areas within Global Village Dubai, Carnaval combines thrilling rides, games and family entertainment in a colourful fairground atmosphere. Every design element contributes to the excitement, including the street furniture guests interact with throughout their visit.
We were commissioned to design and manufacture a bespoke collection of themed trash cans and solar benches that complemented Carnaval’s distinctive branding while delivering exceptional durability in one of the UAE’s busiest visitor attractions.
The Challenge
Carnaval required street furniture that felt like a natural extension of the attraction rather than a standard operational necessity.
The brief called for products that would:
Reflect the bold circus-inspired identity of the new Carnaval area
Enhance the colourful guest experience
Withstand heavy daily footfall and the UAE climate
Be simple for operational teams to service and maintain
Incorporate modern visitor amenities without compromising the themed environment
The result needed to balance striking visual design with the durability expected from a world-class destination welcoming millions of visitors each season.
Our Solution
Working closely with the Carnaval team, ESF adapted its proven Boulevard Trash Can design to create a bespoke collection featuring the attraction’s distinctive red and white circus big-top styling and official Carnaval branding.
The project included:
Over 100 bespoke themed trash cans
10 branded Stellar solar benches with integrated USB charging
Each trash can features side-opening access and galvanised internal liners, making servicing quick and efficient while maintaining a premium appearance throughout the attraction. The solar benches provide guests with a convenient place to relax and recharge their devices, adding another layer of functionality to the visitor experience.
The Result
The completed installation brings together practicality and immersive design, helping keep one of Dubai’s busiest entertainment destinations clean while reinforcing the vibrant character of Carnaval.
The themed street furniture blends effortlessly into the colourful surroundings, proving that functional infrastructure can become part of the attraction itself. During the season in which the project was delivered, Global Village welcomed more than six million visitors over 158 operating days, demonstrating the products’ suitability for extremely high-footfall environments.
